Project: The Musician’s Workshop: Uplifting Queer Voices in Music
The Musician's Workshop will be a 12-month community program dedicated to empowering and amplifying voices of local LGBTQIA+ musicians. Activities include grant-writing sessions, marketing workshops, collaborative songwriting, local histories of queer musicians, open mics, and more presented in partnership with several local organizations from the arts and health sectors. Spearheaded by Wylder Ayres and Leo Harrison who are both native to Northampton and members of the queer community, they aim to create a space for marginalized groups to feel supported artistically at The Parlor Room.
