Project: ACCESS: Advancing Community, Connection, Engagement, Storytelling and Sustainability

Music in Action funding will support the next year of One Longfellow Square's ACCESS Programs. Multiple initiatives under ACCESS work to promote greater connection and inclusivity at the venue. OLS will expand their Square to Square Outdoor Concert Series which features local emerging talent, and provides free, public programming to the community. A partnership with the Portland library system allows free and discounted admission to pass holders. Funding will also support ongoing livestreaming and open mic programming.

One Longfellow Square (OLS) is a non-profit performing arts and concert venue located in the heart of Portland, Maine’s Arts District. It has been bringing together audiences and musicians since 2010. They continue to achieve their mission to engage their community in the shared experience of a broad range of exceptional live music and support musicians at all stages of their artistic journey. OLS is a beloved local listening room with a seated capacity of 180 that is known for showcasing the work of Folk, Bluegrass, Blues, Jazz, Americana, Roots, Rock, local, emerging, and genre-defying musicians.
