Project: Fresh Folk

"Fresh Folk" is a songwriters-in-the-round series that aims to introduce Grand Annex's general audience to a variety of younger, lesser-known singer-songwriters while also introducing a next generation audience to the space. This program would intentionally feature underrepresented artists, recognizing that there need to be concerted efforts to platform emerging musicians, especially in the folk genre.

The Grand Annex Music Hall is a 150-seat cabaret style storefront theater, which presents an ongoing concert series of innovative global, Latin, jazz, and American roots music artists, providing high quality and accessible cultural experiences for the LA Harbor and South Bay communities.

The “Annex” was launched in 2008 by Grand Vision Foundation to help revitalize the heart of San Pedro’s historical arts district. The calendar includes recognized and regional talent, free and low-cost music learning experiences, local open-mic opportunities and a growing line-up of culturally diverse emerging artists.
