Project: JazzReach Residency

JazzReach is a music residency for K-8 students headed by the Metta Jazz Quintet. After The Acorn introduced this program last year, there has been enormous interest in bringing this program back to local schools in Three Oaks. Over four days, JazzReach will bring to area music clinics and free admission concerts to students 'tailored to elucidate the art form and complement a broad range of students' everyday classroom curriculum".

The Acorn offers a broad range of high-quality live music, arts, and education programming that nurtures cultural experience, participation, and community engagement among residents and visitors of all ages. Nationally recognized artists, local emerging acts, community nonprofits, and educational institutions converge at The Acorn. Founded in 2003, The Acorn Center for the Performing Arts serves Southwest Michigan residents and tourists by providing access to a wide array of artistic and cultural programming normally restricted to larger cities, and acts as an incubator for established and emerging artists alike - providing a platform for artist-led discovery and creation and acting as an important community resource for Three Oaks and the surrounding area.
